On your way out east, make a quick detour to Lester’s in Greenvale to stock up on chic styles for the whole family.
A look featuring pieces from contemporary designers, like a Linea Pelle leather jacket ($556) and a Botkier crossbody bag ($198).
For almost seven decades, Lester’s has been a fixture in New York City and Greenvale, Long Island, for contemporary clothing for fashionable adults and their equally fashionable kids.
“Whether for back-to-school, camp, a special occasion, or a wardrobe for a warm-weather winter vacation, they know we cater to their specific needs with fashion-forward, trendsetting style for the entire family,” says Perry Schorr, the company’s president and the son-in-law of Lester’s founders Lester and Lillian Kronfeld.
For women and girls this fall, that means au courant items such as cold-shoulder tops, velvet pieces, bomber jackets, camouflage prints, and slides and mules. The stores will also be introducing Komono and Le Specs, two new sunglasses brands favored by celebrities such as Kate Moss and Olivia Palermo.
While Lester’s does carry labels that can outfit the whole family, such as 7 for All Mankind, DL1961, and Levi’s, the stores also focus on niche offerings for discerning shoppers, like shoes from Vans and Converse or tees from LNA and Chaser, as well as covetable items for moms.
Says Jill Oralevich, the company’s divisional merchandise manager, “‘Mommy and me’ really translates to our seeking out top, of-the-moment trends and brands that transcend age.” 90 Northern Blvd., Greenvale, 516-626-1161
