East End eateries continue to serve up delicious, seasonal offerings long after the summer season ends. Here, six dishes at local spots you won't want to miss this autumn.
As the temperatures cool down, cozy up and feel right at home in this quaint Italian bistro offering classic Sicilian dishes. For a particularly hearty meal, try their pappardelle-style pasta served up with roasted butternut squash and toasted almonds. 108 Wainscott Stone Road, Wainscott, 527-5396
The food flying off the griddle at Love Lane Kitchen showcases the best of this season’s harvest. Case in point is their sweet potato hash and eggs that is served up with a side of avocados. If you prefer something on the sweeter side, check their menu for their pumpkin pancakes coming soon. 240 Love Lane, Mattituck, 298-8989
Although summer might be over, seafood and fish are still aplenty in the Hamptons, which is the best supplement to fall's most beloved ingredients. At Baron's Cove, we especially love the local scallops paired with The Milk Pail’s spaghetti squash, roasted North Fork fennel and radishes, and brown butter vinaigrette. 31 W. Water St., Sag Harbor, 844-227-6672
The next time you're cruising down Montauk Highway, be sure to stop by this oasis tucked away on the roadside. Service Station cooks up organic comfort food with locally sourced ingredients, and offers a literal taste of fall with their wild rice made with herb roasted chicken, raisins, and watercress stuffed into a mini pumpkin from Hank's Pumpkintown—finally, the dish isn't complete without an artful splash of rhubarb and cream reduction on the side. 100 Montauk Hwy., East Hampton, 267-5603
Luckily for locals and visitors alike, popular Mexican farm-to-table eatery Union Cantina will be open this fall, and featuring new additions to their menu, including the roasted ancho peach-glazed pork tenderloin with mashed plantains and grilled asparagus. The tasty fall flavors don’t stop there, though—when it comes to cocktails, try the autumn sangria or pumpkin ale from Long Ireland Beer Company. End your meal with a cup of warm cider topped with cinnamon sticks for a digestivo—it doesn’t get more comforting than that. 40 Bowden Sq., Southampton, 377-3500
If you’re looking for a grab-and-go type of treat, stop into Hampton Coffee Company’s Aquebogue location for their delectable pumpkin muffins and pumpkin pie slices that are the ultimate accompaniments to their new, must-try pumpkin spice chai Latte. 272 Main Road, Aquebogue, 779-2862
