This Memorial Day Weekend, escape the hustle and bustle of the city and head to Montauk for a totally chill summer celebration.
Gurney’s is the spot to stay in Montauk. There’s so much to see and do at the luxury resort over Memorial Day weekend. Kick off the celebration on Friday night (May 26) with live music by Nicole Leone and Stef Nava. On Saturday (May 27), start your day with a PureBarre class before hitting up the beach and grooving to beats spun by Nicole Leone and The Knocks. Sunday (May 28) should be all about pampering—book a treatment at the spa and end the weekend with a decadent Italian dinner at Scarpetta. 290 Old Montauk Hwy., Montauk, 668-2345
It’s not officially summertime until you hit the beach, which is why a day of surfing is in order on Memorial Day Weekend. If you're a newbie, snag a session or two with Paddle Diva Watersports to experience surfing, paddle boarding, and boogie boarding on the East End. 290 Old Montauk Hwy., Montauk, 329-2999
Art lovers, rejoice: The Montauk Artists’ Association is back with its 9th Annual Memorial Day Weekend Show on the Green. Happening Friday through Sunday (May 26-28), the show will feature gorgeous, handmade art pieces in a variety of mediums (think paintings, jewelry, photography, sculpture, and more) created by a roster of talented artisans from around the globe. The best part? You actually get to talk with the artists themselves, learn about their work, and even commission a piece of art to fit your taste and style. 742 Montauk Hwy., Montauk
There’s no better way to see Montauk than from atop their grand lighthouse. Built in 1796, the National Historic Landmark is the oldest lighthouse in New York State and offers up sweeping views of the glistening Atlantic Ocean. The 137 steps it takes to get to the top will make you break a little sweat (consider your Memorial Day Weekend workout complete), but we promise the view will be worth it. 2000 Montauk Hwy., Montauk, 668-2544
Montauk is bursting with adorable stores, but those looking for a mix of haute frocks and high-end swim and surf wear should head to Gurney's. The resort is teaming with summer-ready finds like ethereal dresses from Joie, high-powered activewear from Sweaty Betty, and luxe swim attire from 6 Shore Road. 290 Old Montauk Hwy., Montauk, 668-2345
