A bride's dream becomes reality at the Gold Coast grandest castle.
Inspired by a vacation to Versailles, bride Jenna Mordaga yearned for a glamorous, larger-than-life wedding venue for her special day. So when she discovered Oheka Castle, with its rich history of lavish parties dating back to the 1920s—an era the bride adores—she knew it was the perfect match.
Luckily, she had plenty of guidance to help plan the grand wedding she imagined. “My mom is in the event-planning industry, so from the start she and I looked into vendors,” Jenna says. “One of my best friends also got married a year before me and highly recommended Pedestals as her florist. I was able to get so much planning out of the way in the beginning.”
With so many of the complications smoothed out early, the wedding day went off without a hitch. The couple took advantage of the castle’s over-400-acre grounds and exchanged vows in one of its many lush gardens; then they and their guests moved inside for dinner and dancing. To complement the castle’s grandeur, the bride chose a black-and-white palette with crystal accents and lots of candlelight. Later, Jenna and her new husband, Anthony Forte, had a special treat up their sleeves for their fun-loving guests. “We transitioned from the ballroom into the main cocktail room where we had a ‘club’ set up with a DJ for the afterparty,” she says. “It was great that, just when the guests thought the party was over, they got to walk into another room with an entirely different feel for more partying!”
