Sag Harbor’s LT Burger gives the classic summer dish an elevated flavor profile, with delectable ingredients and inspired milk shakes to wash it down with.

When some of the best fish in the world is caught in nearby waters on a daily basis, ordering seafood is de rigueur out East. But sometimes all you crave, even on a warm summer night, is a juicy burger. Enter the Sag Harbor favorite LT Burger.
Chef Laurent Tourondel has a decorated career in classical French cooking, but he opened this family-friendly neighborhood eatery and gave it a much more relaxed atmosphere than in the Michelin-starred restaurants he’s cooked at around the world.
The white tile-lined walls surround a room with wooden tabletops and a slightly retro feel that pays homage to the all-American burger that Tourondel has mastered over the years. The LT Backyard burger epitomizes the fun, approachable vibe here.
It’s a hefty eight ounces of certified Angus beef that’s perfectly cooked with grilled hickory-smoked bacon, New York State cheddar, and a special LT sauce. Perhaps just as popular as the burgers are the creative shakes, such as French toast- and s’mores-inspired versions that can be made with alcohol.
“The Hamptons is known as a summer destination for people traveling from the city and elsewhere to have fun and party,” Tourondel says. “I wanted to keep the same fun atmosphere in my restaurant.” 62 Main St., Sag Harbor, 899-4646
