With an innovative website, chef Oliver Lloyd is turning his passion for food into simple meals for the masses.

When Lloyd’s wife, Laurie, asked what he really cared about, it wasn’t real estate—his profession—but his passion for food and entertaining. Lloyd’s love affair with food began in Los Angeles, with after-school visits to his mother, Linda Lambert’s cooking school, Ma Cuisine. Intrigued by the ingredients, smells, tastes, and techniques, he found himself heading for restaurant kitchens, trying to gain access to thank the chefs. Growing up in New York and the Hamptons, his tastes became sophisticated, his circle of friends grew, and his enthusiasm for sharing good times over a good meal never diminished. Later, he relocated with his wife to Greensboro, North Carolina, where he found himself immersed in Southern hospitality. When Laurie broached the subject, Oliver, whose nickname is Liv, knew it was time for a new concept, a site where visitors could follow easy tips for preparation and short, fool-proof recipes, allowing them to savor family time while still producing terrific, easy meals to share. Using fresh and simple ingredients, his meals can be made in less than half an hour; you’ll learn to peel an avocado in 30 seconds or create spaghetti bolognese in four minutes. What could be more perfect for an amateur Hamptons cook? Lloyd is featuring the East End this summer, visiting local markets and chefs, and modifying techniques with his own touch, letting you linger at the beach.
