DIY culture takes on floral arranging at a local flower studio.
The summer forecast for budding florists is positively blooming: Millstone Flower Studio has debuted a monthly flower-design seminar at its bright, beautiful Water Mill atelier. Using antique garden roses, peonies, ranunculus and other assorted beauties in ivory, pink, and peaches and cream, all sourced from responsible organic farms, this workshop will reveal the design techniques required to create a memorable English-style arrangement. The brainchild of Stephanie Lessing, an author and a burgeoning horticulturist, this laid-back happening mixes music, Wölffer rosé and chocolate desserts from Hamptons Aristocrat with an exploration of floral mojo in an intimate and fun ambiance. The small workshops are tailor-made for anyone interested in developing a signature floral style, one that will doubtless elevate any dining table and provide plenty of bragging rights to boot.
