Managing Director Steven Jauffrineau hosted the second annual Pentaque tournament at Duryea’s Lobster Deck on Monday, August 21st under the solar eclipse. The annual event created by Jauffrineau, was started to give restaurant industry folks a day off to have fun, play a game and trade stories with other restaurant industry people. A total of 14 teams played the round robin tournament. Teams were representing several Hamptons restaurants and hospitality brands. Between games players noshed on lunch by the lake and peered at the monumental solar eclipse through solar glasses. The winning team “Eclipse,” which consisted of Adrien Angelvy, Nick Iattoni and Jean-Sebastien Brettes, was a combo team from Bibloquet and Sunset Beach. They took home a jeroboam of the event’s sponsor Domaine Ott and Duryea’s Pentaque 2017 shirts. The runners up were the Le Bernardin team featuring Eric Ripert, Adrian Ripert and Julien. Other notable chef/restaurateurs in attendance included Eric and Sandra Ripert, Pierre Weber, Francis Reynard and David Loewenberg.
