The designer, stylist, and author of Dream Décor and the lifestyle blog Bright Bazaar, Will Taylor is inspired by colors found in the Hamptons.
“I am enamored with the aesthetic of the Hamptons; it is where I am happiest,” says Will Taylor.
“I am enamored with the aesthetic of the Hamptons; it is where I am happiest. There is a heritage here that has remained intact and a style that is classic. The images that I take of homes and décor are meant to inspire and demonstrate how one can incorporate the Hamptons’ coastal style into their personal space. Front doors, florals, and nautical interiors are the essence of design in the Hamptons, and where my eye is drawn to because of the vibrant colors.
“Color is the center of my design work. Another aspect that makes the Hamptons lovely is that the area is saturated in light and color. One of the colors that I love the most is blue, and that coastal influence can be seen in hotels, homes, and stores decorated in blue and white palettes.
“Sag Harbor reminds me of wandering through centuries-old villages when I was a child growing up in England. The area has many similar characteristics of the English countryside—beautifully maintained gardens, tree-lined streets, winding roads—and it is steeped in rich history. I am obsessed with shingle-style traditional cottages and houses; they are quaint yet rustic. The setting is truly idyllic and a welcome escape from the trappings of city life.”
