Former fashion editor and stylist Alexandra Knight sells her ultra-luxe customized handbags and accessories at Southampton’s Aerin. Here she spills on her ideal day out east.
Staying true to my commitment to keep up with my super active boys Thomson and Truett, I start the day off with a strength-training session with girlfriends under the trees in our backyard. Personal trainer Jaime Morales is the best as we laugh, get centered, and get fit all at the same time. I make my weekly run to Aerin (83 Main St., Southampton, 353-3773) to shop her perfectly curated collection of everything I need and grab the perfect hostess gifts. I pick up my boys from camp, and we hit Sip N’ Soda (40 Hampton Road, Southampton, 283-9752) for the best cheeseburgers and milkshakes, and then we walk down to our favorite bookstore, Southampton Books (16 Hampton Road, Southampton, 283-0270), and each buy a book to get lost in. In the late afternoon, we go for surf lessons with the Flying Point Surf School (516-885-6607). The boys surf with my husband and their friends while I take our two dogs on a long beach walk on Road G. I slip out early and go to Peconic Prime Meats (235 N. Sea Road, Southampton, 448-4697) to get the most delicious burgers and steaks for our kickball cookout that night at our house. We cook and connect with friends while our kids play a mean game of kickball in the yard and then race around for fireflies.
