This contemporary home provides a hint of provence at 289 Parsonage Lane in Sagaponack.
The modernist Sagaponack home on two acres comes with top-flight finishes, a three-car garage, and Savant smart home systems. It also abuts a nature preserve, ensuring unobstructed views for years to come.
On a sunny late Saturday afternoon during Memorial Day weekend, a four-door black sedan rumbled up the lengthy gravel driveway of the flagship lot at 289 Parsonage Lane, and out stepped actress Drew Barrymore, wearing bell-bottom jeans and a peasant top by Soft. She was there to toast her cover story for Hamptons magazine, and hunky waiters stationed on the back lawn were pouring her Barrymore Pinot Noir rosé.
“If you love Provence and rosé, this is a really beautiful California interpretation of that,” Barrymore offered before addressing the tony revelers by the pool from a sleek porch.
The modernist home in the East Coast’s priciest zip code, according to Forbes, is built sturdy, like a stone, steel, and glass bunker with views that do indeed hint of the vistas of Provence. But this dreamy Sagaponack farmland, a mile from the sea, isn’t just any field. Truman Capote lived nearby, Jimmy Fallon recently bought in the area, and the Clintons have famously rented just down the road.
A full outdoor kitchen with infrared barbecue lends itself to alfresco entertaining.
"The house is on two acres facing west off of Parsonage Lane and abuts a 10-acre reserve, so that all the views are preserved in perpetuity,” says Cody Vichinsky of Bespoke Real Estate, who holds the exclusive on the property with his brother and business partner, Zach. Together, they founded the firm in 2014. A path to the ocean is deeded through the reserve.
“It is an ultra-contemporary design and has a custom 65-foot vanishing-edge pool, room for a sunken tennis court, and a full outdoor summer kitchen with an infrared barbecue,” Vichinsky says. The house itself, approximately 11,665 square feet, was designed by Grade, New York, on three levels and was built by Jay Bialsky, the noted luxury developer. It has a state-of-the-art media room, breathtaking sunsets, and Dornbracht Lulu line fixtures.
Bespoke specializes in homes that are fitted with top-flight finishes, as evidenced by walking through the property. “It has white super Italian marble throughout the kitchen, the island, the backsplash, and the floors in the bathroom,” Vichinsky points out. The master bath has a freestanding tub and a three-generator steam shower with two rain heads, two showerheads, and two hand-helds.
The home includes a 65-foot vanishing-edge pool.
The temperature of the house, the music, lighting, and the pool temperature are controlled by Savant systems. There is a three-car detached garage, and the lower level is fully finished. The windows are by Panorama out of Portugal.
The land reserve, 10 acres abutting the property, runs from Parsonage to Hedges, and while it would be available for equestrian facilities or farming, it is being offered separately—price available on request. The home and two acres are on the market for $23.5 million. Bespoke Real Estate, 903 Montauk Hwy., Water Mill, 500-9030.
