The Early Days (and Nights)

Fran Drescher at the Cancer Schmancer Family Day

The Svedka Presents Summer Music Series at The Surf Lodge was in full swing Saturday night, featuring the Smith Westerns performing live on the back deck of the hotel and eatery. Also providing tunes for the night was DJ Chris Liggio, who shared with us that he’s back in the studio to help produce pop starlet Kat DeLuna’s new album. Considering Ginger Rose, his last (personal) studio effort, hit number one on charts in Japan, DeLuna is in good hands.

Elsewhere in Montauk, Mia Moretti spun during a StyleCaster and Topshop beach party concert featuring the band Chairlift at The Sloppy Tuna. (Now that’s a name you can’t make up.) We hear guests raged late into the evening, enjoying the band almost as much as the scantily clad waitresses serving the booze.

Real Housewife—and apparent wine aficionado—Ramona Singer dropped by Herbert & Rist Wine & Liquors in Southampton to sign bottles of her new pinot grigio, which seems to double as a security blanket during the filming of her Bravo show. We hear the line was rather long to meet Singer, who was affable and gracious to her eager fans. Down Route 27 a bit, at The Bathing Club at The Capri Hotel, Chelsea Leyland kept the crowd of banking elites and lovely models grooving into the evening. Rumor has it this’ll be a weekly gig for the up-and-coming Leyland.

Finally, some heavy hitters took over The East Hampton Studio in Wainscott for the Cancer Schmancer Family Day. Host and breast cancer survivor Fran Drescher kept the likes of Chaz Palminteri, Alex McCord, Simon van Kempen and Countess LuAnn de Lesseps in stitches over the touchy topic—proving laughter really might be the best medicine.
