In honor of Hamptons magazine’s 35th anniversary, we’re taking a sartorial look back on Hamptons styles of yesteryear every Friday.
The Coopers in Southampton: Wyatt Emory Cooper and Gloria Vanderbilt Cooper with their sons Carter and Anderson Cooper.
It may be a little older than our 35 years, but we can't get over this 1972 photo of the Coopers in Southampton. Often listed on best-dressed lists in their heyday, American author and actor Wyatt Emory Cooper and heiress Gloria Vanderbilt Cooper embody classic Hamptons nautical-chic in this image. To boot, the home’s interior is styled like a whimsical country cottage, complete with a purple checked checked couch, ruffled throw pillows, and garden-inspired pots.
Plus, may we please point out an adorable young Anderson Cooper in his mother's lap? A great portrait of a stylish American family for Father's Day.
