As we all know, aside from burning calories, exercising enables you to feel good, motivates you to eat well, do your job well, and gives you more energy to attend all those summer parties! Weight-bearing exercises increase muscle mass, which in turn burns more calories even when you’re lounging by the pool. Cardio including interval training is important to help rev your metabolism for hours after you have left the gym. And don’t forget that simply stretching plays a role in maintaining flexibility and may help avoid injuries.

If you just love the feeling of being sore, you are in luck! SLT (Strengthen Lengthen Tone), the hottest and hardest new workout in NYC, is hitting the beach this summer. SLT offers yoga, strength, and cardio classes that achieve total body strengthening, lengthening, and toning at a knockout pace.
So where can you get this beating to bring out your best beach body? SLT is available at The Surf Lodge so you can get your sweat on and watch the waves at the same time. They will be offering three classes a day, Friday through Sunday mornings, on the deck of The Surf Lodge, 6/29 through 9/3 (8:30 AM, 9:30 AM, 10:30 AM).
