Secret Garden: Elie Tahari's Sagaponack Escape

July 24, 2012 | At Home

As a top fashion designer with a special affection for the Hamptons, Elie Tahari’s home and garden out East are as astounding and summer-perfect as his clothes. From a historical barn to a backyard designed by Edwina von Gal, take a tour inside the Tahari family’s Sagaponack home and garden.

"Sagaponack is truly my home away from home. Originally built as a 19th-century barn in Vermont, my family and I fell in love with the home in 2004—and have enjoyed spending almost every summer weekend there since. I love leaving the doors open during the summers so we get a great breeze flowing through the open living space and kitchen. The vaulted ceilings and wood beams add a classic touch.

Landscape designer Edwina von Gal created the beautiful outdoor space, and during the summer, my kids and I love to relax and play soccer and kickball outside. My favorite thing about the home is visiting each weekend with my children and spending quality time there."
