My East Hampton: Elie Tahari

June 18, 2012 | At Home

Elie Tahari isn’t just the man behind a brand of quintessential Hamptons summer clothing. “The Hamptons is our home away from home,” Tahari says of his East Hampton getaway. “It’s where I love to spend weekends with the most important people in my life: my family.” Below, get an insider’s look at how the Taharis spend summer evenings, what’s in store at his flagship this summer, and more.

Favorite Restaurant - I love Nick & Toni’s (136 N. Main St., East Hampton, 324-3550). On the rare occasion that I go out to dinner, my family and I go there. The pizza is delicious.

Favorite Nightlife - In the summer, we love to project movies on the side of our home, which is a turn-of-the-century barn. We get to watch our favorites like Cinema Paradiso and enjoy the outdoors at the same time.

Favorite Event of the Summer - I am very excited about the July 7 Guild Hall event celebrating An Evening with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin at my East Hampton boutique (1 Main St., East Hampton, 329-8883; 5 PM, details on our calendar). We have thrown many great parties in that store, but I have a feeling this one will top them all.

Favorite Place to Shop - Easy: the Elie Tahari flagship boutique at 1 Main St. In the summer, I visit the Elie Tahari boutique every day. It is the first store built to represent the entire world of Elie Tahari—the women’s, men’s, and accessories collections. It also combines my two loves: architecture and design.
