My Bridgehampton: Alison Brod
July 02, 2012 | At Home
Alison Brod, founder of the eponymous public relations firm, is proof that even PR powerhouses need a break from the city come summer. Brod shares her favorite Hamptons spots in and around Bridgehampton below.
Favorite Restaurant – Nobu (281 County Road, 39A Rte. 27, Southampton, 504-6575) and Almond. I love how Nobu adapts to the beach town, and Eric Lemonides at Almond (One Ocean Road, Bridgehampton, 537-5665) should have his own talk show—he is so much fun. Get the mac and cheese and make him your friend.
Favorite Event of the Summer – Whatever party I do at my house, with my own playlist of New Orleans funk and pizzas from a wood-burning oven. My second favorite is Katie Lee’s end-of-the-summer keg party. It’s always extraordinary, and there’s a great group of people.
Favorite Farm Stand – Fairview Farm Stand at Mecox Bay (19 Horsemill Lane, Bridgehampton, 537-6154). They have giant turkeys that like look like peacocks walking around and the corn maize in the fall.
Favorite Place to Shop – Bridgehampton has two of the best stores in the Hamptons, if not all of New York. 25 Park (2415 Main St., Bridgehampton, 537-7525) is the best retailer—somehow Alison Brettschneider finds brands that no one else has, and Maison 24 (2424 Montauk Hwy., Bridgehampton, 537-2488) was the first to carry the Alexandra von Furstenberg (AVF) tinted Lucite home line.
Favorite Best-Kept Secret – Blowouts by Sarah at the Gil Ferrer Salon (2004 Montauk Hwy., Bridgehampton, 537-5805) (one day, maybe Drybar will come to town). I also love Hampton Coffee Co. (869 Montauk Hwy., Water Mill, 726-2633) for their Soft Serve Fruit Co. outpost and new flavor, tangerine. Hampton Coffee Co.’s chilaquiles are a favorite, too.
