Hostessing Tips from Trish McEvoy

June 26, 2012 | At Home

It makes sense that NYC-based beauty maven Trish McEvoy would throw similarly gorgeous parties when she summers out East. Here, Trish lets us in on her top tips for throwing a great summer party.

"My friends visit me to get away from it all, so my idea of being a perfect host is relaxing the rules. I create a feel-good atmosphere and let everyone follow their pleasure whether it’s long walks on the beach, (protected) sun bathing by the pool, tennis lessons, or reading in their room.

I share the incomparable Ina Garten's philosophy. Over time I have developed an arsenal of fresh, easy-to-prepare meals that are fun to make and always a hit. I love ANYTHING from Ina’s fabulous book Barefoot Contessa How Easy Is That? We cook or grill together and talk for hours around the table. The clock is Mediterranean, the mood laisser-aller!"
