GREENPORT IS A WELL-KNOWN destination for those looking to escape the South Fork. You can get there by boat, dock and eat great seafood on the water. But stay a little longer and you’ll discover a town full of artisans who are incredibly passionate about their craft. Be it home-roasted coffee beans, wedding cakes and truffles filled with local liquors, or exotic fare with spices imported from Bali and beyond, this former whaling town is sure to delight all your senses. With a trusted group of designers in tow, I set out for a day of shopping; we also wound up eating our way through town. There was so much to taste and buy that we didn’t even get a chance to ride the newly refurbished merry-go-round in the center of town. We can’t wait to return for more! (Watch video of our visit here.)
