Haley Binn sets sail in Sag Harbor.
I WAS CHANNELING my inner Abby Sunderland but didn’t want to go at it alone. So I called on some friends to join Captain Bob Sullivan and me on the not-so-high seas of Sag Harbor. After nervously boarding our sloop, Consuela, we settled in for sailing boot camp. Raise your spinnaker, find your sea legs and start sailing!

Look for the recently renamed Lt. Joe Theinert ferry, crossing from North Haven to Shelter Island. The South Ferry Company dedicated the vessel to the soldier, who worked for the fl eet from 2007 to 2009 and was killed in Afghanistan on June 4. You can rent the Lt. Joe Theinert for your special event, or make a donation in his honor to Theinert Memorial Fund, Shelter Island School, PO Box 2015, Shelter Island, NY 11964.
