2012 Bike MS: East End Ride
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society helps fund research and supports those suffering from the disease. On September 9, the Long Island Chapter brings together bikers for rides of 25, 50, 75, or 100 miles around the East End to support the organization.
The Great Gatsby Boat Tour
Every Saturday through September, the Charles II, a US Coast Guardinspected ship traverses Manhasset Bay and the Long Island Sound to highlight views that inspired F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, including King’s Point or “West Egg” and Sand’s Point or “East Egg.” “The tour is for everyone,” says tour narrator Eleanor Cox. Long Island Restaurant Week
Prepare yourself for fall’s restaurant week, beginning November 4. While the list of participants is not yet complete at press time, plan on savoring fare at Grasso’s in Cold Spring Harbor, Jonathan’s Ristorante in Huntington, Rein at The Garden City Hotel, View in Oakdale, and Fresno in East Hampton.
