Tracy Anderson

BY NOW TRACY ANDERSON (watch her work out on the beach here) is a household name, but what you may not know about this Midwestern girl is that she and her family call Sag Harbor home. Hers is a dizzying success story: She came to New York City on a dance scholarship, got married, had a baby, kept the weight on, developed her nowfamous exercise method, shed the weight, met Madonna and Gwyneth, went on tour around the world and opened her eponymous studio in Tribeca. But it wasn’t until she anchored in Sag Harbor that she finally found her rhythm.

Her son Sam agrees. He recently confessed, “The only place that feels like home is the Hamptons.”

Last winter, Anderson holed up in her waterfront home to write her new book, Tracy Anderson’s 30-Day Method: The Weight- Loss Kick-Start that Makes Perfection Possible, and subsequently decided to bring her famous fitness program to the East End (she also discovered Levain Bakery’s peanut butter chocolate chip cookies—“wow!”); a permanent space is currently in the works.

This summer Anderson can be found teaching her two-hour master class at Ride the Zone in East Hampton. But don’t feel bad if you don’t make it to class; I have a feeling you’ll spot this pint-size blonde and her son at LT Burger indulging in their favorite meal—cheeseburgers and milk shakes!
