Grande seconde watch, Mougin & Piquard for J.Crew ($425)
For watch collectors, the name Mougin & Piquard evokes memories of the Belle Époque and the golden age of Swiss watchmaking, before the Quartz revolution. Recently, the team at Tourneau discovered an archive of sketches and design inspirations for the beloved brand. With Tourneau’s help, J.Crew is reviving the name and releasing the vintage-inspired grande seconde watch exclusively for its stores and catalogues. While the timepiece at its heart is Swiss, its classic style is pure J.Crew—leather straps in tan or black adorning a perfectly simple round face with stainless steel casing. It is the simultaneously fashionable and simple piece one would expect from Mougin & Piquard and J.Crew. 14 Main St., East Hampton, 324-5034

Cashmere quilted parka with fox fur hood, Brunello Cucinelli ($6,530)
The cold air coming off the dunes from Quogue to Montauk is bone chilling in December. The breezes rattle the shutters and typically make staying inside by the fireplace much more appealing. But Hamptonites are far from the type to while away the season indoors—after all, there are wine tastings at Wölffer Estate Vineyards and a holiday lighting at the Montauk Lighthouse to attend. Italian fashion label Brunello Cucinelli offers a number of smart ways to keep warm and carry on this winter. Besides its covetable corduroy trousers and layers of cashmere sweaters and scarves, the label has released the ultimate luxury parka, sure to keep you warm on even the chilliest of East End mornings. The shell is made from super-soft Italian cashmere in quilted panels and is filled with down. Just in case it’s snowing, the fox-fur-trimmed hood will certainly keep you warm and dry. 39 Newtown Lane, East Hampton, 324-3400

When Susan Davidson became CEO of Scoop in October 2009, the team decided to approach the Scoop Beach East Hampton location from a different perspective than its other boutiques, capitalizing on an opportunity to bring in designers who otherwise don’t have a presence in the unique market. “The Hamptons market is special because of its acutely luxurious fashion sense combined with its proximity to the beach and the city,” says Davidson, who brought designers such as Zac Posen, Giambattista Valli, Cacharel, and Azzedine Alaïa to the East Hampton store.
